Different beats louder.

Being different is a strategy, not a style.
Every category has a visual uniform. Banks are blue, wellness is beige, and tech start-ups share the same gradients. Brands that follow the uniform feel safe in a pitch deck and invisible in the real world.
We start every identity project with a category audit: a wall of competitors' homepages, packaging and ads. The gaps on that wall are where a new brand can be noticed.

We stopped trying to look like the market leader and started looking like ourselves.
Different only works when it's also true. A playful identity for a serious product creates distrust; the difference has to come from something real about how the company works.

Find the one thing only you can say.
Once we've found the gap, we push one element hard, usually colour or type, and keep everything else disciplined so the difference reads as intentional.
Then we check it at small sizes. If the brand is still recognisable as a favicon or a thumbnail, the difference is strong enough.
